Korean, Languages 

This companion volume to 『College Korean』 (California, 1992) enables students to continue their development of Korean language skills and to enrich their understanding of Korea. Because language is a fundamental component of culture, the text incorporates themes relating to Korea's cultural customs and social issues, presented in the form of dialogues, anecdotes, short essays, and poems. Also included are themes tied to the country's physical geography, including major cities, islands, and historical sites. Each lesson consists of a situation dialogue, core vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, grammar, and exercises on reading and listening comprehension.

Author: Clare You
M.A. University of California, Berkeley. Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2003 she was awarded the Korean National Silver Medal of Culture for her work in the advancement of Korean culture, including language texts and translations.

지은이: 조은수 (Eunsu Cho, 1958~)
서울대 대학원 철학과에서 석사와 박사과정을 수료한 후 도미하여 미국 버클리 대학교에서 불교철학 박사학위를 받았다. 미국 미시간 대학교 아시아 언어문화학과 조교수(1996~2004)를 역임하였으며, 2004년 이래 서울대 철학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 지은 책으로 『Korean Buddhist Nuns and Laywomen: Hidden Histories, Enduring Vitality』, 『Jikji Simgyeong』, 『Intermediate College Korean: 대학 한국어 중급』 등이 있다.
